us: fall out boy literally does owe its soul to chicago because if it weren’t for the city’s hardcore punk scene, joe and pete would’ve never become friends. specifically, joe wouldn’t have joined arma angelus and he and pete would’ve never had the idea to start what would soon become known as fall out boy. subsequently, joe would’ve never met patrick at that borders bookstore, therefore the pete-patrick meeting would’ve never taken place. although pete had been friends with andy since andy was sixteen, the fall out boy we know today would have never come to fruition without all four of the members existing in the same area, under similar circumstances, at the exact same time in chicago.
